What RetroVault stores

RetroVault stores your local app settings, declared age bracket, import records, save files, and purchase state on your device — and, if you turn on Cloud Sync, in your own private iCloud account, which only you can access. No ROMs are included, and RetroVault does not provide game downloads.

Game files

You choose files from your own device or cloud storage provider through iOS import flows. RetroVault does not upload your legally owned game files to a RetroVault server.

Cloud Sync (iCloud)

When you turn on Cloud Sync, RetroVault syncs your battery saves, save states, and cover art to your own private iCloud (CloudKit) database. This data lives in your personal iCloud account, which only you can access — RetroVault has no access to it. Your game files (ROMs) are never uploaded.

You can turn Cloud Sync off at any time in Settings, and you can remove your synced data with Delete from iCloud in Settings.

Diagnostics and purchases

If you opt into analytics, RetroVault may record unlinked diagnostic and product-interaction events to improve reliability. Purchase processing is handled by Apple through the App Store.
